We are happy to report that the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Cultural Council approved the designation at their May 18, 2017 meeting in New Bedford. We are grateful to you and all the other individuals, organizations, and businesses who have worked to reach this milestone. The mission of the newly designated Roxbury Cultural District is to identify and recognize Roxbury's cultural assets and establish the tools, strategies, resources, and spaces that elevate the community of Roxbury as a living repository of arts and cultural expression--past, present, and future.On January 24, the Roxbury Cultural District held its first official Board of Directors meeting. The district now has an 18-member board that will govern the district. Learn more about the board members on the About RCD page of this site.
